An update on the serial burglary suspect Blanca Delarosa The “tamale lady” is back in the slammer!

September 20, 2021 · PASADENA, TX, POLICE, PPD

We wanted to post an update on the serial burglary suspect Blanca Delarosa, whom we first advised our community about on April 5, 2020. The public labeled Delarosa as the “tamale lady” because she pretended to sell tamales to enter elderly people’s homes in the Pasadena and Deer Park area, then defraud them or steal from them. Since our previous post, Delarosa has committed additional crimes in our community and is back in custody.

Delarosa is currently in Harris County Jail, booked for warrants that include Robbery by Threat, Aggravated Theft from the Elderly, Theft from a Person, Theft, Credit Card Abuse, and Felony Burglary of a Habitation.

Delarosa preys on the elderly by utilizing different ruses and/or pretending to be in some immediate need. Most victims believed they were doing the right thing by helping someone in need, while she rummaged through their home for valuables or money. We ask that if you have elderly parents, family, friends, or neighbors, please share her image with them, so they do not become victims in the future.

We want to thank the folks that came forward with information that led to the arrest of Delarosa.

Image removed. Archived stories keep their pictures for 3 years; the original source may still have them.
