The Pasadena Fire Department sends its condolences and prayers to the Bacliff Volunteer Fire Department on the recent passing of their EMS Director, Jason Garcia. Yesterday, Jason Garcia passed away after battling stage 4 cancer. Garcia has been a member with BVFD since the age of 18. In 2000, Garcia enlisted into the United States Army where he served as a Combat Medic Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division attaining the rank of Staff Sargent and was among the first boots on the ground when the global war on terrorism began in Afghanistan. In his total of four deployments, he fearlessly faced enemy fire to ensure his wounded brothers and sisters would see their families again and helped recover the fallen to ensure no man or woman would be left behind. Upon arrival back to the United States, Jason continued his long-served passion and drive of helping his community, as he continued his service as both a paramedic and firefighter. Jason ended his career journey with HCA Healthcare where he served as a Flight Paramedic. Jason Garcia is the true definition of a hero and public servant.
