Some more history of our hunerd year old library. 📚
The Pasadena Daily Citizen reported 1500 books checked out on the opening of the library building 60 years ago on April 18, 1962. It had been closed since April 2, when the previous library building on Tatar Street (now Pasadena Blvd.) closed. The opening date was scheduled even though tables, chairs, and the new circulation desk were not expected to be here, "but we think it is important to open as soon as we possibly can," Librarian Virginia Schwartz was quoted when it closed.
