Sgt. Michael Biggs and Officer Jon Simm, congratulations on your recent retirements!
We want to take a moment to recognize Sgt. Michael Biggs and Officer Jon Simm on their recent retirements. Both Mike and Jon started working for the Pasadena Police Department on January 20, 1992, when they were selected to attend the 44th basic police academy. Both went on to have successful careers - helping many along the way. Below are just a few highlights from two impressive careers of dedicated service to the citizens of Pasadena.
Mike worked all three patrol shifts, was a Field Training Officer, BTO (Breath Test Operator), a CVE Inspector, and was a collision reconstructionist. He also worked for the Gang Task Force/Street Crimes Unit, the Juvenile Division, and the Children's Assessment Center. On January 3, 2017, he was promoted to sergeant and served as a Field Training Supervisor, Motor Division Supervisor, and he helped create the Crash Unit. In 2020, he began his last assignment as a supervisor in the Narcotics Division.
Jon started his career on night shift patrol, and in 1994, he was selected to attend basic SWAT school and became one of the department's newest SWAT operators. He served on the SWAT entry team for 19 and a half years. Jon went on to work all three patrol shifts, where he had the honor of being a Field Training Officer. He was also assigned to the Gang Task Force, Auto Theft Division, and spent the last eleven years as a Crime Scene Investigator in the Crime Scene Unit.
Please join us in congratulating both of them on a great career as we wish them all the best in all their future endeavors.
