On Monday, June 12, 2023 at approximately 9:50 PM, Precinct 8 Deputy Webber was in the Clear Lake station parking lot at 16602 Diana Ln preparing for his shift when a vehicle arrived and pulled up beside him. The driver rolled down their window and Deputy Webber immediately detected the strong odor of alcoholic beverage.
While speaking with the driver, Deputy Webber observed multiple signs of intoxication. The driver was directed to step out of the vehicle and was identified as 61 year old Lynn Laughlin Borut. Deputy Webber administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and determined the driver was unable to operate a vehicle safely. Further investigation revealed Borut’s blood alcohol content was .237 and .228. A check of Borut’s criminal record revealed a prior DWI conviction.
The Harris County District Attorney’s office was contacted and accepted Driving While Intoxicated 2nd Offense. Borut was transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center where her bond was set at $100.
