Precinct 8’s Sergeant B. Williams locked up two 🤡’s after an expired tag stop.
COUPLE ARRESTED ON TRAFFIC STOP
On Saturday, April 1, 2023 at approximately 2:12 PM, Sergeant B. Williams with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office observed a black Dodge Charger displaying an expired registration in the 1500 block of the E Sam Houston Twy S. Sergeant Williams initiated a traffic stop and detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 36 year old Joel Micha Arnold and the passenger was identified as 39 year old Crystal Michelle Moreno. While speaking with Arnold, he stated he had a firearm in his possession. Sergeant Williams directed Arnold to step out of the vehicle and secured the weapon. A check of the passenger’s information revealed an open warrant through Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located a second handgun and 1.3 grams of methamphetamine. Further inspection of the handgun revealed the serial number was scratched off.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted felony charges for Possession of a Controlled Substance on Moreno with a bond set at $2,500. Tampering with Identification Number charges were accepted on Arnold with a bond set at $100. Both subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center.
