TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO MULTIPLE ARRESTS

On Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at approximately 1:21 AM, Deputy Mitchell with Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office was conducting narcotic interdiction in the area of Theta St and Edgebrook Dr when he observed a vehicle with a temporary permit traveling at a high rate of speed. Deputy Mitchell proceeded to follow the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in the 800 block of Edgebrook Dr.

The driver was identified as 31 year old Jeremy Dabrael Travis and the two passengers as 31 year old Roberto Martinez Jr. and Ashley Dodson. Upon further investigation, the female passenger was found to have provided false identifying information. Deputy Mitchell positively identified the female as 24 year old Ashley Nicole Brown. A check of Brown’s information revealed an open warrant through Harris County Sheriff’s Office and she was placed in custody.

Deputy Mitchell retrieved Brown’s property from the vehicle incident to arrest and observed a baggie of marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle. The two other occupants of the vehicle were directed to step out and were detained for further investigation. Deputies Mitchell and Campbell proceeded to conduct a probable cause based search and recovered the following:

34.3 grams of methamphetamine
3.7 grams of cocaine
3.5 grams of alprazolam
.380 caliber handgun

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges of Possession with Intent to Deliver and Felon in Possession of a Weapon on Martinez. Travis and Brown were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. All three subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center for booking. Their bonds have been set at $5,000 for each charge.
