On Monday, October 25, 2021 at approximately 12:04 AM, Precinct 8 Deputy H. Atluri conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of Pasadena Blvd on a vehicle with an unreadable temporary permit.

Deputy Atluri made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and identified the driver as 32 year old David Lee Overbey and the passenger as 28 year old Eric Cody Moss. A check of the vehicle’s VIN revealed it was reported stolen through Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies attempted to make contact with the registered owner of the vehicle with no success. Upon a probable cause based search of the vehicle, Deputy Atluri located a stack of counterfeit currency totaling $420 and several debit cards and mail that did not belong to either subject.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted Forgery on Overbey and Fraudulent Possession of Identifying Items on Moss. Both subjects were transported to the Harris County Joint Processing Center for booking. Their bonds have not yet been set.
