PPD's fallen brother sign dedication ceremony for Detective Pedro "Pete" Mejia, who lost his battle with COVID-19 on February 6, 2021 🙏🏻
We recently held a sign dedication ceremony for our fallen brother, Detective Pedro "Pete" Mejia, who lost his battle with COVID-19 on February 6, 2021.
Pete displayed the highest of standards in professionalism, as he was known for the quality of his work and his willingness to help others. He had a friendly and polite bearing, which inspired everyone around him. His exceptional work ethic and informal leadership were founded on a great compassion for the community that he faithfully and selflessly served.
This ceremony officially renamed the section of Jenkins Road between Davis Street and Strawberry Road as "Pedro Mejia Memorial Drive." This street sign not only honors his memory, it also serves as a reminder of his sacrifice for those of us who will traverse this section of the roadway.
