PPD road rage case cracked and some wise advise.
We recently received a call from an individual who had their car's tires slashed in the 3700 block of Red Bluff Road after a road rage incident that occurred on the Sam Houston Tollway. The victim, in this case, was able to provide a good description of the suspect's vehicle, which was involved in the altercation. Using the description given, investigators with our Property Crimes Division were able to follow up on this case, and through a series of investigative leads, they not only quickly identified the person responsible but also obtained a confession, thereby clearing the case.
It is important to remember that if you are confronted by someone in an aggressive manner, either in person or in a vehicle, try to avoid conflict as much as possible and contact the police for assistance. Your best defense is to safely retreat while being the best witness you can be. Road rage incidents are becoming far too common; however, you can choose to avoid these situations by not losing your cool and responding with like behavior.
