PISD Career Tech honoring Teachers of the year in PISD. Congratulations!
Throw back to just a few weeks ago when Criminal Justice teacher Dr. Melissa Ryan earned the Teacher of the Year honor for CTHS Pasadena ISD and Business teacher Kimmie Longstreet earned the New Teacher of the Year honor for South Houston High School for 2023! Congratulations to these amazing educators! #PISDCTE #CTE #CTEAllStars #TOY #NTOY #teacheroftheyear #newteacheroftheyear This pretty much sums it up: I am so honored to have been named South Houston High School’s New Teacher of the Year 22-23. Deciding to return to work as a teacher was one of the hardest decisions I have made, as I thought that choice meant I was leaving my two babies to do this world without me. We had been just the 3 of us for over 5 years. What I didn’t realize then, was that I was actually gaining almost 100 more kids that I got to call my own. I hope they learned half as much from me as I learned from them this year. I have loved them each as my own, and we all had our bad days but they were outnumbered by our great days! Pasadena ISD welcomed me with open arms and gave this Mama exactly what she needed to be successful, more kids to love, teach and inspire. What an amazing and fun first year! So excited for a whole new set of kids next year and to watch my former students take on this world and do great things! Enter with Honor, Exit with Pride, Go Trojans!
