"SYNOPSIS:
"A colonoscopy isn't the worst thing that can happen to a man."
"Bob-o", a high school teacher with the spine of a jellyfish, returns to Normal, Illinois to find nothing is normal
after the sudden passing of his mother, Mariam O'Kineski. Forced to face the responsibilities of planning her
funeral, he must navigate an outlandish cast of characters that include the Vietnam vet angling for Mariam's
corner apartment, the building manager angling for a wedding ring and the aging flower child next door who
is hell-bent to steamroll the funeral plans (which may or may not include the funeral director's taco truck, the
Rolly Guacamole). When Mariam's boss shows up, everything Bob-O thought he knew about his mother
quickly unravels in hilarity. He'll be making a grave mistake if he thinks his mother's legacy is what she's left
in her will as her final gift to Bob will be much more "bold and brave."
Characters:
BOB O'KINESKI -- Male Late-40's to Mid-50's.
Never
married high school teacher. His spirit animal is a jellyfish. His aversion to commitment is so strong,
he often struggles to commit even to a complete sentence.
ARNE JORDAN -- Older male.
Vietnam vet who believes personal boundaries are for pansies. A crusty but loveable old dog who is always
working the angles.
MONICA GIBSON -- Female, Mid-30's to Late-40's.
Apartment building manager who clings to her Brides Magazines. She's given up on Mr. Right and is now
looking for Mr. Good Enough.
THELMA GOODWIN -- Older female.
A neighbor. The late 60's in San Francisco were a good and bad thing for her. Campaigned to legalize
marijuana. Spunky and strong-willed.
STAFFORD MILLER - Male or Female, flexible age.
Local discount funeral director who also operates a food truck, the Rolly Guacamole.
DANIELLE MERCEDES - Male or Female who can convincingly play the opposite
Elegant, striking and in charge. Full of surprises. Must be comfortable in pumps.
