Officer Mike Matela retired 27 yrs from PPD. Congratulations! 👊
Please join us in congratulating Officer Mike Matela on his recent retirement from our department.
Mike has worked for the Pasadena Police Department since 1995, when he graduated from the department’s 45th modified academy. Upon graduating from the academy, he was assigned to the patrol division, where he has remained throughout his career. Mike also had prior law enforcement experience with the University of Houston’s Police Department, where he worked in an undercover capacity. Mike has remained steadfast in his commitment to serving our community with compassion throughout the years, and he is known for his friendly and calm demeanor. He was once asked what he loved most about being a police officer, and he said that he loved getting out in the community visiting with citizens, and seeing different things. While he is beginning a new chapter in his life and will be missed, he will always be a part of our police family.
Congratulations, Mike, and we wish you well in all your future endeavors!
