Nothing better than hands on learning outside of nuke facilities and the Big Mac building area. PPD's new hire, Chief, has been pushing pencils all week.
K9 Chief encounters new challenges weekly, and his handler finds fun and unique ways to teach him valuable skills. He began this week by taking care of general office duties, including reading fan mail from his admirers and attending a meeting where he propositioned an idea to his peers that he deserves more treats because he is the “goodest boy.”
Chief learned that parks are fun, especially when he gets to slide down the slides. This is a fun training technique that Sgt. Sanders incorporates in Chief's training; it builds his confidence and assists Chief in overcoming any obstacle he may encounter on duty.
After each long day of training, Sgt. Sanders is sure to include playtime in Chief's busy schedule. Although Chief's ears seem to get in the way from time to time, he loves to fetch. Chief stays active in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle and guarantee a solid sleep schedule in his brand new crate!
Chief is very appreciative of the continued support from the community and is looking forward to providing everyone with another update soon!
