Night shift is the right shift. Precinct 2 deputy spotted Armando recklessly driving, leading to an arrest for drunken driving.
On December 24, 2024, a Night shift deputy with the Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 2, while on routine patrol, observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign and narrowly avoid an accident.
The deputy immediately initiated a traffic stop. During the interaction, the deputy noted several signs of intoxication. The deputy administered field sobriety tests, and the driver displayed enough indicators of intoxication. The driver was identified as Armando Aguirre. Subsequently, Mr. Aguirre was arrested and taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated. Mr. Aguirre provided a breath specimen that showed results of a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) over twice the legal limit of 0.08%.
The arrest is just another example of the Harris County Constable Precinct 2's ongoing efforts to combat impaired driving, especially during the late-night and early-morning hours when drunk driving incidents are more common. For those celebrating during the holiday season or at any time, Constable Garcia reminds the public: If you drink, don’t drive. Use a designated driver, take public transportation, or call a ride-sharing service. It's the responsible choice.
