On Friday, December 31, 2021 at approximately 10:53 PM, Deputy M. Self, who is assigned to the Precinct 8 DWI Task Force, was dispatched to the 900 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy S in reference to a crash resulting in a Fail to Stop and Give Information incident. The complainant was traveling on the Sam Houston Pkwy when they were rear ended twice by a vehicle. The suspect vehicle continued to travel before stopping in the 1000 block of the E Sam Houston Pkwy N.

Deputy Self and Sergeant J. Toliver arrived to the scene and made contact with the driver who displayed obvious signs of intoxication. The driver was identified as 35 year old Sergio Contreras Sosa. While speaking with Contreras Sosa, Deputies learned he was employed as a driver for Lyft Rideshare Company and was currently in service.
