LPPD Seeks Public Assistance
On January 7, 2023, at approximately 6:25 p.m., La Porte Police Officers responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 9800 Shell Rock. Officers arrived and located several spent shell casings and a partial projectile in the middle of the street in the reported area. Several of these rounds struck a residence, but it is unknown if this particular home was the target of the shooting. An investigation by Officers and Detectives led to evidence of a vehicle in the area at the time of the shooting, a silver-colored, 4-door passenger car with a burned-out passenger side headlamp. This vehicle can be seen driving west in the 9800 block and then this same vehicle is seen driving slowly east in the 9800 block. The evidence also shows a male subject walking east in the 9800 block and as the silver-colored passenger vehicle passes slowly by this male subject, he exits the roadway and walks between two residences. A short time later, multiple shots are fired from the silver-colored passenger vehicle.
The La Porte Police Department is seeking information related to this incident. Anyone with any information related to the passenger car or the male subject walking in the street is encouraged to contact the criminal investigations administrative assistant, Amy Haire at 281-842-3173 or [email protected].
