LPPD is proud to announce Citizen’s Police Academy. Class (A) of 2022. Congratulations!
The La Porte Police Department is proud to announce the most recent graduation of the Citizen’s Police Academy. Class (A) of 2022 began in March and ran twelve weeks where attendees learned about the department’s functions and employee duties. The intent of the Citizens Police Academy is to allow citizens and public servants an opportunity to work together by educating each other on how to make this community a safer place to live and work. A variety of topics were discussed including: Dispatch operations, Criminal Investigations, Patrol Procedures, Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.), Bomb Squad, and Game Wardens.
Graduates have an opportunity to move on to the Advanced Citizen’s Police Academy which allows for more hands on experiences with the department. Area citizens, business owners and others are welcome to apply for the next Citizen’s Police Academy by contacting Officer Rene Hernandez at (281) 842-3126 or [email protected]
