Had a some freak-out breakout high winds this morning. Pasadena Animal Shelter says chip your dog and thank them later.
If you live in the Houston area, you know that we had a pretty crazy storm this morning with high winds. If you're a dog owner, one of the first things you do when you get home is let your dog(s) out to go potty. Please make sure that your fence is still intact especially if you have a runner.
This is also a great time to remind everyone of the benefits of microchipping your pet. As long as your information is current, someone can take your wandering pet to any vet, animal shelter, PetSmart, or PetCo and can have him scanned. They can call you and let you know that person has your pet and help to get him back to you. Collars and tags can fall off, but a microchip is inserted under the skin, so it is always with your pet. It really is the best way to make sure your pet gets back home after his adventure.
