Gael is the most friendly handsome hound in prison yet he's been stuck there the longest.
You see, the title he has is the one that no one wants: the shelter’s longest stay dog. And we are really and truly perplexed as to why.
What’s even more confusing is that it seems no one has ever even thought about giving him a chance. No one has submitted an application for him. No one has listed him as a potential adoptee.
In the section of his file where we keep notes about applications or potential adopters, there’s nothing. The little icon to click on for that section doesn’t even show up because it has never been used for him.
In 170 days, there has been nothing. Ever. It’s heartbreaking.
And it doesn’t make sense. He is the sweetest boy. He’s a bigger dog, yes, but he’s like a big teddy bear. You can curl up with him, rub his back, pat him…and he just stays calm throughout. He’s laidback and loving.
He likes to go outside and play and go for walks, and he’s done well with other dogs. He seems to like everyone he meets, and he loves toys.
He’s an all-around good boy who, day after day and month after month, has been steadfastly looking for his forever home.
He is ready to give up the title. So, so ready.
If you’re the one that can help do that, please come by today. Ask for Gael (A156705), the handsome, five-year-old German Shepherd mix who is ready for a new title: your new best friend.
