Man Charged with Felony Possession w/Intent to Deliver

On December 19, 2021 at approximately 1:48 AM, K9 Deputy B. Morgan and his partner Duke were conducting a business check in the 9900 block of Bessemer St. Deputy Morgan checked a registration on a white van in the parking lot and found the vehicle was reported stolen out of Houston Police Dept. He sat and monitored the vehicle for a few minutes before observing an Hispanic male enter the van and attempt to leave the parking lot. Deputy Morgan conducted a Felony stop on the vehicle and the driver was detained. He was identified as 42 year old Anthony Demacio Fernandez.

It was found that Fernandez had an outstanding warrant through the Harris County Sheriff's Office for Fraud. Houston PD also confirmed the vehicle was in fact stolen. During an inventory of the vehicle, Deputies Morgan and Garcia located 8.0 grams of Methamphetamine, 0.9 grams of Heroin and a small amount of Marijuana. The HCDA's Office was contacted and accepted the charge of Possession w/Intent to Distribute on Fernandez. His bond has been set at $50,000.

If you follow our page, you may recall that Deputy Morgan and his K9 partner Duke graduated from the Houston K9 Academy, LLC on Friday. This incident occurred on their first shift back on the streets as a K9 team.
