DPPD Reminder inside. In short, your blinker is not a metronome. If it were cars would come with a harp.
Reminder:
When signaling to turn a vehicle left, or right, the operator needs to signal (use the blinker or hand signal) for at least 100 ft., of movement, prior to turn. This means BEFORE you turn your vehicle onto a cross street or private drive, you need to signal continuously for 100 ft. The purpose of a turn signal is to inform the drivers behind you, that you will be slowing down to turn. So, if you turn on your signal AS you are turning, it defeats the purpose of the turn signal.
Note: To visually estimate 100 ft., imagine 5 to 6 car lengths in front of you.
