Dobie students rescue trapped French Fry bird during prep session. Oui oui
Several students who came up to Dobie for a prep session this past weekend got a life lesson, as well as extra tutorials. A male Grackle, a resident bird around campus, got into the building but couldn't find a way out. Mrs. Berreth's AP Chem students couldn't concentrate on the lessons knowing the bird was suffering while trapped in the building. Using a sheet to gently herd and block the bird from moving past them and a long-poled net to capture him, Jr.'s Oscar Espinoza, Ethan Hernandez, and Aidan Maldonado successfully captured and released him back outside. Our native wildlife needs to be protected whenever possible and these "Bird Wranglers" did a wonderful job.
