Dobie: Parents and Guardians, about the software glitch this morning.
Dear Dobie Parents and Guardians,
Earlier this morning, you were informed about a glitch in the software due to a newly installed PA system that resulted in a lockdown drill. The campus was secure, and the lockdown was determined to be a false alarm.
In a separate and unrelated incident, a student posted a social media threat involving a weapon. Pasadena ISD police reacted quickly and were able to identify the student who posted the video and confirmed there had been no direct threat made to our campus. The student making the post intended it as a joke.
Our school must remain a safe haven for learning, and we have zero tolerance for threats against school safety. We urge parents to discuss this issue with their children, so they understand the serious repercussions of making such posts or statements.
Thank you for working with us to keep our campus safe. Please continue to notify us of anything suspicious through phone calls, emails, or by utilizing our Anonymous Alert App. We will continue to practice safety protocols throughout the year to keep our students and staff informed and safe for any emergency that arises.
Mr. Thomas
