Did you lose a Purple Heart and Vietnam Campaign medal? PISD can help.
The search continues for the owner of a Purple Heart medal and a Vietnam Campaign medal that were both discovered outside of Hobby Lobby on Fairmont Pkwy in Pasadena.
Cynthia Maldonado, a longtime bus driver in Pasadena ISD, found the medals during her break, between 1-1:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1. Now, she’s on a mission to return them to their rightful owner.
“I just happened to see them on the ground as I was on my way back to work,“ Maldonado said. “I can’t believe they were just sitting there.”
“I hope we find the owner.”
A Purple Heart medal is presented to service members who have been wounded or killed while serving in the U.S. military. A Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal is a decoration that was presented by South Vietnam to recognize members of allied forces who served in the Vietnam War for at least six months.
Maldonado’s daughter posted a photo on Facebook in hopes of finding the owner. If you have any information about the medals, please contact the Maldonado’s through the following Facebook link. #purpleheart
