CONVICTED FELON FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF FIREARMS
On Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at approximately 9:44 AM, Harris County Precinct 8 K9 Deputy J. Humphrey was conducting narcotic interdiction in the 200 block of Dixie Farm Rd. Deputy Humphrey observed a vehicle with no license plates attempting to elude being stopped in the parking lot of a business known for high narcotic activity. Deputy Humphrey monitored the vehicle park behind a building before observing the vehicle enter the roadway in the 12600 block of Galveston Rd. Deputy Humphrey conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for operating with no license plates and conducted an investigation. The driver was identified as 43 year old Joseph Mikhael Ishak II. A check of Ishak’s information confirmed he had an open warrant through Clear Lake Shores Police Department.
Upon further investigation, Deputy Humphrey requested a Narcotics K9 Unit to check by with him. Deer Park Police Officer Nitchman and his K9 Partner Roni arrived to the scene and conducted an open air sniff of the vehicle in which K9 Roni alerted for the presence of narcotics. Upon a probable cause search of the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was located in the driver seat, a rifle in the backseat and a rifle in the trunk. A test of the drug paraphernalia resulted positive for methamphetamine. A further check of Ishak’s criminal history revealed he was a convicted felon.
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted and accepted charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Ishak was taken into custody and transported to the Harris Joint Processing Center for booking. No bond has been set at this time. At the time of Ishak’s arrest, he was out on bond awaiting trial for six other cases.
