Benjamin frankly could use a better hand at life. Heartworm treated, adopted, 2 years later returned, heartworm positive. Opens at 11am
He was here in 2020 and had FIVE adoption applications fall through — always for random things; never for a reason that was his fault — before finally getting adopted.
Then, this April, his owners surrendered him. It wasn’t because of anything he had done. He was simply a victim of unfortunate circumstance.
And even sadder is the fact that when he left the shelter, he was heartworm positive but left with treatment for them. After three months, he was heartworm-free. But he tested positive again when he was brought back.
He deserves a do-over, on all of it. A fresh start. A clean slate. A chance to see what life can be like, what forever can feel like, and that unconditional love does exist.
This sweetheart deserves that.
At approximately five years old, he’s more on the mellow side. He mostly wants to hang out by your side and get some ear scratches.
He likes toys and has never met a treat that didn’t intrigue him, but he’s pretty laidback. He shows signs of being house-trained and walks perfectly on a leash.
Adoptions are still $5, and his heartworm treatment is sponsored. All he needs is a chance and a whole lot of love.
If you can give him that, please come by and ask to meet Benjamin (A141393).
