#Throwbackthursday This photo taken in 1959 is of Jimmy Martyn, the last descendant of the Martyn family. Does the name sound familiar? They are the namesake of ABNC’s 1800s authentic farm site and ABNC’s Martyn trail. The short trail segment was first constructed in the 1800s as part of the Martyn Road to access the fertile alluvial soils located adjacent to the bayou edge. “If you look carefully along the left side of the trail as you head towards the water, you may still see several of the fence posts, which were installed along their property line over 100 years ago.
