Animal Shelter New Year's Eve tips for keeping the dog at home.
New Year's Eve is coming up, and it's time to make sure that your pet will be safe when the fireworks start. The days after New Year's Eve and July 4th are some of the busiest days for any shelter as scared pets take off to hide from all the noise.
We ask that you make sure that your fences are secure, and your pet's microchip is up to date. If your pet isn't chipped, be certain that he or she has some form of identification on him or her. The best option is to bring your pets indoors starting at dusk and until daylight for at least Saturday into Sunday. However, if your pet does happen to get out, having a microchip with up-to-date contact information or an identification tag with your phone number on it will help us to return your pet to you.
Please help us keep your pets safe, so everyone can have a Happy New Year.
