And now a word from DPPD just thinking out loud.
A note from Pasadenian: Some, maybe just ours, or all of the after market locking gas caps won't pass inspection.
We’re just thinking out loud here.
Years ago, when gasoline prices spiked, criminals stole gas from vehicles by siphoning. Since there is a spike in gas prices, it may be a good idea to start protecting your gas tanks.
Some vehicle models are equipped with a gas door release lever, inside the vehicle, and some do not, which means anybody can open the gas door. If you own a vehicle that does not have a locking gas door, it may be a good idea to purchase a locking gas cap or install a lock to your gas door. Although this may not prevent a determined thief from stealing your gas, it may deter the opportunistic thieves.
