Time to get out the swim suits, goggles, & caps.
The 16th Annual SRHS Faculty-Alumni-Student Swimming Meet is set for Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Shippey Aquatic Center.
This will be the first time in three years we will be able to host the event (due to the covid-19 pandemic and lockdown).
This event has a history that goes back to 2006 (as old Southmore pool and Strawberry pool).
Warmup will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the meet will start at 4pm.
All the current swimmers and divers are required to obtain a faculty or alumni partner to swim with on the various relays.
There will be relays for all levels of event that goes back to 2006.
Members of the swimming team will be going around to talk to you about participating.
There will be fun relays (inner tube relay, fun noodle relay, t-shirt relay, kickboard relay) along with two regular "competitive” relays (200-yard medley relay and 200-yard freestyle relay).
In the fun relays, the faculty and staff will be allowed to wear fins (we will supply) and all you will have to "traverse" or "navigate" is one length of the pool, (25 yards).
All faculty and alumni will be receive a custom swimming cap as a "thank you" for your participation.
This will be a fun event for everyone.
